Returning to its origins, the Proxima-book is not designed as a fashionable, slim laptop for art exhibitions or trendy coffee shops. Instead, it directs its attention towards the fundamentals: efficient cooling in a compact, yet easily transportable shape, ensuring exceptional CPU capabilities with the Intel Core i9-13900HX. Additionally, it encompasses cutting-edge graphics with the GeForce RTX 4070, meeting the highest performance standards set by NVIDIA, all while boasting a remarkably luminous 16-inch 16:10 display housed within a robust framework.
INTEL CORE I9-13900HX
Boasting a whopping 24 cpu cores (comprising of 8 power-optimized Performance-cores and 16 efficiency-optimized Efficient-cores), the Intel Core i9-13900HX is an absolute beast when it comes to computing! It also supports up to 32 threads simultaneously, making it an ideal choice for handling multiple tasks at once. Additionally, with its impressive single-core speeds of up to 5.4 GHz, the Core i9-13900HX is more than capable of handling demanding gaming applications.
While the standard TDP of this high-end processor is set at 55 watts, achieving its maximum performance requires surpassing this limit – a feature common to all CPUs. However, the quality of the laptop’s cooling system plays a crucial role in determining the actual performance.
Unlike thin and lightweight laptops that can only sustain high clock speeds for short durations, the Proxima-book is equipped with enhanced cooling capabilities. This allows it to handle power consumption of up to 100 watts, nearly doubling the standard TDP. As a result, the Proxima-book consistently delivers exceptional performance for tasks such as content creation and gaming.
NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4070
To achieve fast frame rates in games and quick GPU renderings, the Proxima-book is equipped with NVIDIA’s improved and efficient graphics processing units that were introduced in January 2023. These units include the GeForce RTX 4050, RTX 4060, and RTX 4070. The Proxima-book specifically utilizes the highest performance 115 watt variants, out of the wide range of performance levels spanning from 35 to 115 watts defined by NVIDIA.
The entry-level model, the GeForce RTX 4050, is equipped with 6 GB of GDDR6 memory and offers better performance compared to the older RTX 3060. It is a suitable choice for gaming in Full HD or in WQHD with reduced graphics details. On the other hand, the GeForce RTX 4060 offers 2 GB of additional VRAM and over 20% higher performance, making it a great option for price-performance balance. It is equally suitable for high frame rates gaming in Full HD or for playing with high to maximum graphics details in WQHD.
For demanding games and productivity render tasks, the GeForce RTX 4070 is recommended. It comes with 8 GB of GDDR6 graphics memory and offers about 15% better performance compared to the RTX 4060 and 40% better performance compared to the RTX 4050.
